CHIEF LAWYER DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL
WEST VIRGINIA LAWYER DISCIPLINARY BOARD

There currently is a vacancy for the important position of Chief Lawyer Disciplinary Counsel
for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the West Virginia Disciplinary Board. This is Chief
Counsel's position which will involve substantial management and supervisory
responsibilities. In accordance with Rule 4 of the Rules of Lawyer Disciplinary Procedure,
letters of application with accompanying work history, academic record and references will
be accepted if received on or before, Friday, August 18, 2000. Any person seeking to apply
for this position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A licensed attorney in West Virginia in good standing or be eligible for admission to the
Bar upon appointment, LDP Rule 4.3;

2. At least 5 years experience as a practicing attorney with emphasis on litigation and
expertise in appellate advocacy is preferred;

3. Thorough knowledge of the disciplinary process and the Rules of Professional Conduct is
preferred;

4. Management experience relevant to managing and operating an office consisting of two
attorneys and other support staff, including responsibility for statistical reporting and other
such matters.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications up to a present maximum of $75,000.00
annually, including all benefits accorded State employees. Application information should be sent to:
